About Us

The New Eltham Social Club was founded in September 1892. It moved from its original leased home in Footscray Road (now occupied by Dance Wise above the Co-op supermarket), after purchasing 32 Avery Hill Road in January 1901.

We are a members social club affiliated to the C.I.U. with over 1300 members. The larger downstairs bar, features a well stocked bar with a wide range of beers,lagers,real ales and spirits, two pool tables which are only 50p a game, gaming machines, quiz machine, a big screen and 4 large LCD tvs for watching live sports.

The downstairs bar also has a dance floor and stage for the weekend’s entertainment (see Entertainment list for details).

A new lounge bar and beer garden which was built in 2019 is available to use for members. The beer garden is only opened in the summer months till 9pm.

The function hall upstairs is available to hire for members only, when opened this also has LCD TV’s a pool table and dart board.

There is an outside purpose built heated smoking area at the rear of the club

The club welcomes affiliated C.I.U members with the exception of Christmas Eve and New Years Eve which are members only nights.
The club boasts a dart team, pool team and a golf society. We have bingo with cash prizes every Tuesday evening.
